Why have a section about myself? Well, I always enjoy to read about others when I visit their sites. So that I
can get to know more about the person on the other side of the computer
with a similar interest as myself. I'm 38 years old and live in Stockholm,
Sweden. I've got a masters in Human Resource with
a major in Business economics and am currently working as a human resource
manager.
So, why
this narrowly focused site on such a strange subject as preserved axis
aircraft? Well, it all started with that I thought it would be cool to
learn the basics about web design which I did. As you can see from the
simple design of this site, I never got beyond the basics in web design!
The subject came natural since I hadn't been able to find a good website
back in 1999 with the information I was looking for. Since I had collected some
information and photos of preserved axis aircraft from my visits at
different museums it was quite easy to publish it.
Some 20
years ago I began keeping track of preserved aircraft through different
sources so that I could go and visit them whenever I traveled somewhere. I
started to document Photographically aircraft with varying degrees of
success (it's very difficult to take good pictures of big camouflaged
objects with protruding bits and pieces in dark and cramped museums!).
Almost every time I look and examine one of these aircraft I discover a new
thing, a gadget or technical solution which I haven't seen before. That's
why I like to examine aircraft that are in different states of disassembly
or under restoration. Of course, to see, hear and smell them flying is a
great experience too.
Whenever I
get a chance I try to get in to the air. The older airplane the better. One
day I hope to own an old plane and fly it myself!
Hope you
enjoy the website! //Mikael
